The words to that fine song happen to sum up the way we feel...and as long as we have breath to sing or speak, we will sing and speak of the Grace and Mercy of our loving God.
We (Hank & Bev) have been singing together for over 40 years, married for 39, and our blend is as the Lord would describe..."the twain shall become one." Our sound has been described as somewhere between Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and Manhattan Transfer on chicken fried steak and grits.
For many years we sang and played for the world...background vocals for many famous stars (Willie Nelson, Jerry Wallace, Mickey Gilley, Freddie Fender, Johnnie Lee and more), including some #1 country hits, instrumental work in the studio and on stage, and invitations to "come to Nashville and be famous!" We left all that behind in 1980, dedicating the rest of our lives and talents to praising and preaching Jesus to a lost and dying world. Over the years, we have performed in great places such as street missions, back alleys, living rooms and open fields, as well as Indian Reservations, churches, tents, and convention centers, and from
2002 to 2005 published a Christian newspaper (The Master's Table) distributed throughout central Texas. (http://masterstable.john812.com).
In 2006 we planted the Cowboy Church in Thrall, Texas (http://www.john812.com/cowboychurch), and continue to pastor there as well as going out to other venues including the Bartlett State Prison, tent revivals and more.
We present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a compelling way through song and preaching...sometimes with humor, but always in seriousness and Truth firmly anchored in the Word of God.
